POSITION DESCRIPTIONS

Membership Committee - Courtney Bridgers, Chair

Oversees for the recruitment, engagement, and retention of members within the Aggie Alumni Cheer Association. This committee ensures that membership processes align with the organization’s mission and goals, fostering a strong and active alumni network.

​

Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Plan and execute membership drives and outreach events.

  • Develop incentives and engagement activities for members.

  • Work with the Treasurer  to maintain the current membership database

  • Work with the Corresponding Secretary to manage communication to keep members informed and involved.

  • Address membership inquiries and provide support.

Nomination Committee - Jennifer King Fairley, Chair

Oversees the process of identifying, vetting, and presenting qualified candidates for leadership positions within the organization. Ensures a fair and transparent nomination and election process while encouraging diverse and active participation from alumni members.

Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Identify and recruit qualified candidates for leadership positions.

  • Ensure a fair, transparent, and inclusive nomination and election process.

  • Develop and implement criteria for candidate eligibility.

  • Communicate leadership opportunities to members and encourage participation.

  • Oversee election logistics, including ballots, voting procedures, and results announcements.

  • Maintain records of past leadership to ensure continuity.

 

Bylaws Committee - Keya King, Chair

Maintains and updates the organization's bylaws to ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations and alignment with the association's mission. Reviews proposed amendments, ensures proper governance, and educates members on policies that impact operations.

Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Review and update the organization's bylaws to align with nonprofit regulations and organizational goals.

  • Ensure all governing documents remain in compliance with 501(c)(3) requirements.

  • Provide guidance on policy interpretation and governance issues.

  • Educate board members and general membership on bylaws and operational procedures.

  • Facilitate discussions and voting on proposed amendments.

  • Ensure transparency and accessibility of governing documents.

Historian Committee - Fatundra Speight

Preserves the legacy and history of Aggie cheerleading by collecting and maintaining records, photographs, and memorabilia. Documents key events, milestones, and achievements to ensure the rich tradition of Aggie alumni cheerleading is honored and remembered.

Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Collect, document, and preserve historical records, photos, and memorabilia related to Aggie alumni cheerleading and the alumni association.

  • Create and maintain digital and physical archives of significant milestones and achievements.

  • Develop and share historical content through newsletters, social media, and events.

  • Collaborate with decade representatives to document alumni experiences and contributions.

  • Organize tributes, recognitions, and commemorations for all members, financial and non-financial.

Technology Committee - Wenalyn Bell Glenn, Chair

Manages the association's digital presence, including website maintenance and social media platforms. Ensures technology is effectively used to engage members, streamline operations, and promote the organization’s initiatives.

Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Maintain and update the organization's website, ensuring accurate and engaging content.

  • Manage social media platforms to promote events, initiatives, and member engagement.

  • Work with the Corresponding Secretary to maintain member databases, and online registration systems.

  • Implement digital solutions to improve organizational efficiency and outreach.

  • Provide technical support for virtual meetings.

  • Ensure cybersecurity measures are in place to protect member information.

Mentorship Committee - DeMarques Coleman, Chair

Facilitates mentorship programs that connect alumni cheerleaders with current student athletes on the official cheer program. Provides guidance, career support, and networking opportunities to empower the next generation of Aggie cheerleaders.

Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Develop and manage mentorship programs that connect alumni with current student-athletes.

  • Establish guidelines and best practices for mentor-mentee relationships.

  • Coordinate workshops, panel discussions, and networking events.

  • Partner with other HBCU cheer programs to provide career and leadership development resources.

  • Track and evaluate the success of mentorship pairings and program impact.

  • Create opportunities for professional development and community engagement.

Scholarship Committee - Cassandra Watkins, Chair

Administers and promotes scholarship opportunities for current Aggie cheerleaders. Oversees fundraising efforts, application reviews, and recipient selection to support educational advancement within the Aggie cheerleading community.

​

Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Develop scholarship criteria and oversee the application and selection process.

  • Promote scholarship opportunities to eligible current Aggie cheerleaders.

  • Organize fundraising initiatives to sustain and expand scholarship funds.

  • Partner with sponsors and donors to secure financial support.

  • Review applications and select recipients based on merit, need, and alignment with organizational values.

  • Work with Technology Chair to recognize scholarship recipients through social media, newsletters, and events.

Decade Reps Committee

Serves as a bridge between alumni from different generations by ensuring representation and engagement across decades. Organizes decade-based activities, fosters networking opportunities, and strengthens connections among members from various eras.

​

Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Ensure representation and engagement from alumni across different decades.

  • Organize decade-specific networking and social events.

  • Act as a liaison between decade groups and the organization’s leadership.

  • Work with Historian to collect and share stories, traditions, and experiences from each era.

  • Encourage participation in fundraising, mentorship, and volunteer opportunities.

  • Foster connections between older and younger generations to strengthen the alumni network.
